MORTIS is a 100% free fanzine centered around the themes of death and grief within ALIEN STAGE. Each contribution will go through the thoughts and feelings of the individual characters and their perspectives on death itself. This zine focuses on the canonical events of the series, but personalization of the characters is determined by the contributors.ALIEN STAGE is an ongoing animation / song-based series created by VIVINOS in collaboration with QMENG and produced by STUDIO LICO. All characters featured within this zine belong to VIVINOS. "MORTIS" is a fanmade project and does not hold any affiliation with the official ALIEN STAGE team.

what is a zine?a zine, otherwise known as a fanzine, is a collection of artworks and writing bundled together to create a fan-published product. zines are often themed around certain aspects/ideas and include a verity of different creators. they can either be for-profit, entirely free, or even dedicated to a specific charity.
what is the theme of this zine?“MORTIS” is a zine specifically themed around death and grief. both illustrations and writing pieces will take characterizations and concepts surrounding these delicate topics to complete their contribution.
will this zine be free, for-profit, or charity based?this zine will be completely free and will be published as a PDF. it will be hosted in google drive, as well as a dropbox for accessibility reasons.
how can i apply?you can apply for both contributor applications or moderator positions here!
is there an age restriction on applying?due to the potentially graphic nature of this zine, all contributors and moderators must be the ages of 18 and older. you must either have an indicator of your age on your account or be willing to provide proof of your age in the form of any valid ID.
is there any experience necessary in applying?although having some experience would be appreciated, it is absolutely not required and we will be unbiased against those who have not participated in any previous zines. both moderator and contributor positions are open to anyone who is willing to cooperate and compromise.
will ai-generated/previous works will be allowed?no, ai-generated content will absolutely not be allowed. we hold a zero-tolerance policy toward ai-generated content and we will be disqualifying anyone who is caught using such methods. as for previously written/drawn works, we will also not be accepting those. everything submitted for the zine, apart from initial application examples, will need to be 100% new and original content.
is nsfw content allowed?gore and artistic nudity will be allowed, however, there will be no sexual/explicit content. this zine is geared toward the exploration of death and grief, and overtly sexual content will not be discussed in pieces produced for this zine.
any other topics that are prohibited?taboo content such as pedophilia, sexual assault, etc. will not be allowed for the comfort of all our participants and moderators. we will also not be tolerating any form of homophobia, transphobia, racism, etc. anyone found agreeing with these ideologies will be removed from the project.
